I've been anticipating a Venkman/Fielding final for a while, but Homer Simpson has just meant so much to comedy. I'd love to hear if Night Court has a legacy beyond its great run that I might be too young to perceive.
I went Fielding, but there's no shame to his game if Homer takes him out. I wouldn't say Night Court had any real lasting influence. It was your pretty standard work place sitcom and most of them had a 'horny guy' or 'horny girl' character. It's just what John Larroquette did with that character. It's kind of like the comment on Al Bundy in that match up. You can't deny the genius Ed O'Neill invested in a character that could have easily been a Jackie Gleason Honeymooners rip-off to make it unique and original, same with Fielding.
