Neal Adams drew Batman in the late 60s and early 70s. His style set the tone for all Batman art to follow, returning the character to his dark roots. He co-created Man-Bat and Ra's Al Ghul.

Brian Bolland only drew one Batman story, The Killing Joke, in 1988. But what a story! That one story had such an impact that it was enough for him to make this showdown. He didn't co-create any characters, but in a sense he could be credited with helping create Oracle.

I'm going with Adams here. I can't really say why. But, he did a ton of work. As much as I like The Killing Joke, it's hard to take Bolland here.

Well, I guess this one is safe to close. Weird, I was more expecting Mazzucchelli and Jim Lee to have blow-outs this round, but their match-ups have been pretty competitive.

As awesome as Bolland is, I suppose Adams's much greater output and impact was convincing to everyone. As surprised as I am by the unanimity, the right guy won.
