This box set was released just last week, and I’m thrilled that it is on Spotify.
163. Almost Famous 20th Anniversary Music from the Motion Picture (box)
From what I was able to find, the vinyl box set is currently pre-order only, and its actual release date is scheduled for August 20. If it was supposed to release before our draft will likely end, I'd let it in (I did this with the Dee Gees' Hail Satin, being released tomorrow—if, for whatever reason, it does not show up in stores tomorrow, that pick will be nullified), but as it won't actually exist until our little competition is over, I'm leaning towards saying it just barely doesn't qualify.
I can discuss this offline with you. For now I will withdraw that pick and redraft it later if we determine it is allowed.
In the meantime, I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling 22.
163. Red- Taylor Swift (Country)

This and all the weird genres are why this might be one of the 3 or 4 drafts I've not participated in.
I feel like only allowing actual vinyl records in a vinyl record draft isn't too crazy of a rule. If I was in a PlayStation game draft and tried to pick a Nintendo64 game that somebody burned onto a CD, I wouldn't expect that pick to be eligible.
Don't know what to say about the weird genres. I felt like I narrowed it down to a pretty decent list.

174. Live! - The Police (Live). Also moves Allman Brothers Band / Fillmore to Blues Rock.
This album is a favorite because it has an early Police show when they were more punk influenced, and then a show from Synchronicity when they were on top of the world.

Ok. My 174 doesn’t work either. Grrrrrrr. Stupid rules.
Repick:
174. Pinkerton - Weezer (Wildcard)
Like Paul’s Boutique, Pinkerton is the second album from a band with a huge debut album. But instead of making a sequel and sticking with the tried and true formula, they took risks and made an album that was initially disappointing to the casual fan. But the hardcore fan loved it, and with time, it became enormously respected and critically acclaimed. 20+ years later it is still timeless, vital and rocks.

Also, yes. It counts as jazz.

For what it's worth, I didn't expect the vinyl aspect to be as much of an issue as it seems to have been. It's not my intention to make annoying rules or anything, it just made sense to me at the time that a vinyl collection would be made up of records that exist in real life. If it wasn't so close to the end of the draft, I would have no problem retroactively making it just an "albums by genre" draft. If I run any drafts in the future, I'll try to make it a point to simplify things. I do apologize for my rules in this one being aggravating when it's supposed to be fun.

190. Shaka Zulu - Ladysmith Black Mambazo (foreign)
South American choir group that sang backup on Paul Simon’s Graceland (and Rhythm of the Saints). If you liked Graceland, you’ll probably like these guys.
Edit: Also, skip me on my next two picks. I need to research eligible box sets and live albums.
