Okay... so Harlem Heat is shutting out the Filthy Animals, but the MCMG are leading the Freebirds?? This makes no sense at all.

I'm not bitching here, cause Booker T and Stevie Ray are my choice here, but just seems that the style clash in both matchups are similar, yet the vote doesn't parallel. And Harlem Heat never had the crowd heat that the Freebirds did, and I don't think the MCMG have quite the workrate that Rey and Kidman had (but maybe I need to watch more TNA.) I'm just saying that, to me, the numbers don't add up.

Or maybe you're all just internet smark wankers hen it comes to TNA. I don't know. I'm only 26, but damn if I don't feel like the the third oldest one here.

MCMG has amazing workrate, and as a team, I think, are more exciting than Rey and Kidman were and that's not a knock on Rey and Kidman at all (as individuals, they're not too shabby either, but Rey and Kidman have them beat there).

I think it has a lot to do with a lot of folks having never seen the WCCW Freebirds before, or not watching them when they were relevant, whereas they almost certainly have watched Harlem Heat when they were relevant. We're talking a difference in about 15 years, and a much bigger scope of television when it comes to Harlem Heat as opposed to the Freebirds. In addition, MCMG is extremely relevant now, constantly has good matches, and just came off having an astounding match at the last TNA PPV. Rey and Kidman, as good as they were, were much more of a flash-in-the-pan team than MCMG are.

Yeah, I love the Animals but I think I'd have to give the nod to MCMG. They're a better team, period. And they're better wrestlers, most likely. But the Animals never had the cohesiveness and tag work that the Guns do. Its really a thing of beauty to watch them go.

But i wouldn't call Rey and Kidman a flash in the pan team. They were just an irregular one and their run as a straight tag came during WCW's worst days and was booked lower on the card than the Guns currently are on TNA's.

I'm sad to see the Animals being shut out so I'm voting for them. This isn't a "break the shutout" thing. I skipped voting last night because I didn't know which way to go. I was leaning towards the Heat because they're the fucking Harlem Heat.

And yeah, the Freebirds thing is clearly a matter of me and others having never seen them really. Even when I go back and watch old wrestling the great Freebirds stuff apparently happened in some Texas fed I've never seen but only have heard about how awesome it is. I've watched matches and promos but you lack the context and that tells a lot. I watched the Animals, Heat, and MCMG. I've watched the entire careers of the Animals and MCMG. I might not have ever missed a single moment of the Animals'. Its easier to judge them.

Booker T may be one of my top 10 favorite all time wrestlers, and he's definitely in the top 20. But I always thought Stevie Ray was lousy, so I never really loved Harlem Heat.

Stevie Ray wasn't lousy. I mean he sucked as a singles wrestler and Booker just dwarfed him, but as a tag wrestler he was pretty decent. Stevie was smaller during Heat's run than he was as a singles. Injuries, age, and added weight hurt him a lot. There was a time Stevie could move pretty well for a big man and could kick a man in the jaw. He did the same sort of moves that Booker did, the only real difference in their games being that Booker went to the top rope. But that's also the beauty of tag work because it can highlight the strengths a wrestler has and push down his negatives. Stevie as a singles would have been boring. But as a tag he and Booker had great chemistry and timing and with quick tags and good work he was a nice performer.

That's tag teams and its why Angle and Benoit are gone. They weren't a tag team. They were 2 awesome wrestlers who tagged together. A TEAM is more than just Wrestler A and Wrestler B.
