I know they get a lot of flak nowadays, but there was a time when the Dudley Boys were my favorite tag team in wrestling.

How long were AJ and Daniles a tag team? Was it one of those 4 month things where some may not even consider them to be a real tag team, ala Angle and Beniot? I know they teamed up within the past 2 years - but I don't remember enough of it to even think of when they teamed.

6 months about. 1 year tops. Personally I think the Angle/Benoit comparison is inapt since Angle/Benoit were basically feuding and the team was just a chapter of the feud. Daniels/Styles were a genuine team for a time there. But it wasn't a very long time and I in good conscience can't vote them over a legit great tag team.

I wouldn't vote them over the Dudleyz anyway.

On further investigation, they did win Tag Team of Year in 2006 from PWI. Not that there was a ton of competition, but it puts them ahead of other teams like LAX and 3D, so I take back my Angle-Benoit comparison.

It's Team Phenominangel, dammit! At least that's what I used to call them.

I never saw Team 3-D in ECW, but for a long time they were the most annoying team for me. They are terrible faces. I loved every second of AJ/Daniels.

Eric, it was after the Joe/AJ/Daniels 3 way feud. AJ and Daniels developed a mutual respect during the feud that Joe failed to give back. They faced AMW for the Tag Titles on Jan 1st of that year and then teamed on and off during the feud. When it ended and Joe walked away champ the two decided to form a team and feuded with Planet Jarrett and AMW for awhile for the belts. They took them and then LAX jumped them to start a feud with them that included an AWESOME Ultimate X match and a kinda goofy but brutal "Electrified" Steel Cage match (the electricity stuff is gay but minimal and Homicide used a fork in the match). Then they broke up. They teamed together a few times but were done. It was really 2 feuds, but they were pretty awesome feuds that lasted at least half the year.

But fuck Team 3D. The Dudleyz were some of the biggest shit stirrers in wrestling history, put on insanely brutal matches in ECW and invented the flaming table, and then helped make TLC happen. They win.

I don't even think you have to have seen The Dudleys in ECW to have enjoyed them, they were awesome in WWF as well. But in ECW - wow. Bubba Ray cut some of the most evil promos back in the day.

I don't even know if you can call them promos. He just went out there, took the mic for a good 20 minutes and called out every member of the locker room, the audience in the arena, and anyone who could hear him. He just doesn't like people that Bubba Ray.

At a house show while he was in WWF we (wife, mother-in-law, and brother-in-law) were sitting in the front row. The crowd was really booing the shit out of the Duds. Bubba turns around and looks right at mny mother-in-law and yells "Shut the fuck up, you stupid bitch." Of course it wasn't her doing anything. We all laughed hysterically and she was a tad freaked out. Good times.
