Ashley Fliehr, 22, is charged with assault on a law enforcement officer. Her first court appearance is scheduled for October 6.
According to Chapel Hill Police, concerned neighbors called for help when they heard a commotion in the parking lot of their apartment complex off Conner Drive Saturday night.

Officers found Rick Flair, his daughter Ashley Fliehr and an unidentified 22-year-old man. Sources tell Eyewitness News the three were involved in a fight that left the former pro-wrestler bloodied and bruised.
Flair declined to file charges in the case. But, his daughter is accused of kicking an officer. Chapel Hill Police say a taser gun was used on Ashley Fliehr.
She is charged with assault on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest. When Eyewitness News tried to contact Ashley Fliehr, her boyfriend said the incident was a family matter that is now resolved.
Rick Flair, whose real name is Richard Morgan Fliehr, is best known by his ring names, Rick Flair and the Nature Boy.
Flair is among the most well known wrestlers in the world and has been one of wrestling's biggest stars since the late 1970s. Many consider him the greatest wrestler of the modern era of professional wrestling.
He retired as a wrestler in March 2008

I know that, but I was thinking it was her since she became violent toward the cop. And yes, I know that could be because she was protecting her boyfriend.

You're not printing a newspaper, you don't have to be on the safe side. No one is suing you.

But yeah, that doesn't actually even suggest that the daughter did it. Logic would dictate the dude did it. And really, that doesn't even say that there wasn't another party. They were involved in a fight. There's nothing saying that they were alone or fighting with each other. Of course the lack of any mention of anyone else would hint towards it being between the 3 of them, as would the "family matter" comment later.

But yeah, "Flair beat up by daughter" is just an assumption made on what is at best a 50/50 shot. And it plays like a good old fashioned bit of yellow journalism because "Flair beat up by Daughter" is a lot flashier than "Flair beat up."

But this isn't the New York Times and that's not a headline, so I was just pointing out something I noticed.


EDIT: Actually, now that I reread it her "boyfriend" referenced later in the article appears to be mentioned as a separate person than the "unidentified male." So really, that article is written to suggest the male is the main suspect, not the daughter. Him being unidentified and all. Could be the boyfriend. Depending on age could be Reid Flair. Could be a mugger or a neighbor. But he seems to the be the suspect.
