The only 2 outcomes I can forsee this match happening, and neither invole Sting winning. He either goes full on heel and TNA starts the Outsiders vs. TNA storyline or Sting gains respect for Joe and starts terrorizing Styles.

TNA GRUDGE MATCH
"King Of The Mountain" Jeff Jarrett vs. Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle
Special Enforcer: Mick Foley

Jarret will eventually lose to Angle and put him over, but he needs to brutalize Angle for a standard match or 2 until Angle destroys him. I pray they keep Russo away from this match, as I half-expect a real life divorcing couple in the Angles to have Karen help Double J and then kiss him fully or some bullshit.

Just let it be a straight up match with little to no shenanigans please...

THREE WAY MATCH
Booker T (w/ Sharmell) vs. "The Instant Classic" Christian Cage vs. "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles

Cage is the turning point in this match in my opinion, and will be instrumental in victory-blocking Styles here, of cource "accidentally". Tweener status continues...

Hell if I know how wins this, I'd guess Curry man as he almost won TerrorDome last time. If they try to top last match I also predict ladders and tables will somehow get in the cage.

Last I had heard he is injured so that's why they are pulling the Suicide character till he is better. But the injury was only his arm, so that might fit into the character.

It sounded bad though, and TNA has pulled the promos.

Maybe it's wishful thinking, but the returning Jarrett talks much shit, goes even with Angle for 80% of the match, then something happens and Angle takes it and he's allowed to take spend the next month (standard wrestling time period) trumpeting that he has proved that he is the only thing in TNA worth a damn, especially if Foley continues with the "you could be the greatest thing ever" rhetoric.

Sadly, between school and election coverage, I've only barely been paying attention, so I don't think I could make any decent predictions. I kinda think Jarrett will lose, to give Angle more heel heat for a feel-good Jarrett win at some later date.

Basically, the old folks argue and fight until the young stars come out to clear house, effectively squashing TNA’s shitty finishes with one last shitty finish, followed by a jumpstart to Joe dismantling Sting. This leads to infighting with the Old Guard, and kick starts the Old vs. Young angle for real.

THREE WAY MATCH
Booker T vs. Christian Cage vs. AJ Styles
--I like AJ to go over simply because he’s so important to the young vs. old storyline. Cage costs Booker the match, leading to more issues for them.

--Where’s Kazarian when I need him? I have no clue, I half expect TNA to debut someone new in the match and have them win it. If not, then I’ll go with Super Eric, because he must have naked pictures of Dixie Carter. There is no other reason for his gimmick to still be going on.

So it looks like I (surprise!) did a little too much fantasy booking, but I guess it’s kinda my thing. So this was half what I think will happen and half what I want to happen. Either way, I hope TNA uses this PPV to refocus and let everything revolve around the in ring action.

I also think they could actually do the Young vs. Old storyline right if they kick start it on PPV, and let the faces win in the end.

Am I the only one who finds it weird that Mongo is reffing a match that has 8 men yet not 1 who he worked with in WCW? That just seems weird to me. I mean, when I stop and think about it there's really only a handful of guys on the roster Mongo did work with (Jarrett, Sting, Booker) but for the way wrestling works, how many people WCW had, and the "WCW Lite" rep TNA has I expected to realize Mongo had wrestled one of the guys in the match. Not that 6 of them weren't even in the business when he left and the other 2 never managed to make it to WCW.

Eh, I know its Mongo and all. Mongo, who has sort of become this symbol of stupid wrestling decisions. An athlete turned bad wrestler who got a push regardless, shoe horned into a classic group and rubbing booked as an equal to legends and a future legend, all that stuff. But its just the usual wrestling obsession with anything resembling a celebrity. This time its a local guy who actually has wrestling history serving as a ref. That at least strikes me as better than Survivor stars showing up, Frank Wychek wrestling, or David Eckstein being the reason for a PPV match.

Mostly I just don't care because unlike most every other celebrity casting wrestling has ever done this one has gotten no more than 30 seconds of air time on Impact and is a referee. And I never notice referees anyway.

Oh, and since Angst is proximately 12 hours away from being done with TNA here's the link to the latest (and presumably last) Daddy Monkey PPV Prediction game.

I hate Mongo. But if he 3-point stances someone with his broken fingers and falls over, it'll be worth it. (That happened, right?)

Still not sure if I'm ordering this tonight. It's $35 bucks, but since it's the last PPV I'll probably order in a looong time, I feel like giving TNA some of my money. Not that I'm really happy with this. It's been a really slow year for TNA--Joe won the title months after it would have the most effect. Anything good about Lethal was destroyed with the soul-sucking SoCal Val feud. Aside from Kaz, who I'm "meh" about, I can't think of an X-Division highlight. Too many moments of Black Reign and Super Eric. I've always liked Booker but the Roode feud was terrible and his faux-Royal T thing just doesn't work anymore.

Beer Money is good and fun. The Fish Market Brawl sticks in my head as a memorable match. And the Knockout Division has, as we know, been a highlight, although they're kind of stuck with the same half-dozen people at this point. AJ carried most of the early part of the year. I always enjoy Christian and wouldn't be against him having another run. But they've definitely regressed over the last twelve months.

I still wish Booker T was working with Beer Money just so Bobby Roode could give that Haliburton to Mongo and then Mongo does the fast count.

I don't think they've regressed over the last 12 months as much as the last 6. And I'm not even sure its regression as much as just complacency. But I think its undeniable TNA hasn't done anything really worth remembering since Lockdown. There hasn't been anything really awesome (like LAX, Joe, AJ/Joe/Daniels, Christian Coalition, Kim/Kong) since Lockdown. I think its been 1 part simple creative failure (the Joe/Booker stuff didn't work like they wanted and Lethal/Dutt was a mess), 1 part their stupid tendency to take it slow in the summer, and 1 part a conscious decision to stretch out this RESPECT war to really kick off at BFG. Thus months of mysterious music and guitars and bats falling from the sky and "Respect" promos without much of anything actually happening.

I'm hoping that tonight is really good and big. I THINK TNA actually has a plan here that rationalizes why they've dragged things the last couple of months. But I could just be fooling myself. I'm expecting this whole faction war to go crazy with the top 3 matches on the card and for it to be a theme of the whole show. Maybe that's a good thing, maybe its bad. But even though I've been pretty bored by TNA the last few months I'm kind of up for tonight. At least enough that I'm going to try and be home, done with my business, and with a beer at 8 PM tonight.

But only to find a stream. TNA hasn't earned my money.

The reason I'm stopping the DML predictions thing isn't because making the picks is a chore, it's because putting the page together is a lot of work and I ain't doing it if I don't give a shit about the subject matter. It stops being fun and becomes work... and first and foremost, I do DML for fun. So I appreciate people's willingness to help out, but I'm honestly not putting the work into something I no longer care about.

Sting, world champion, has officially solidified my "not caring about" status as it relates to TNA.

BFG was a fun enough show, but it wasn't special enough to keep me interested in TNA.

That's funny because the way Sting's been booked lately, my interest is renewed. I couldn't stand Jow so that's no loss to me. I'd rather AJ be in the hunt.

Not to say BFG was a perfect show though. Kong should have taken the strap back from Wilde and Roxxi didn't need to be in there at all. Then the BP should have gone over and Angelina should have chased Kong for the strap after a turn by Saeed (who joins Sheik).

Shit, now I've gone and fantasy booked.

Finally got around to watching it. It was a fun show with 2 unforgettable spots (Abyss being ON fire! and Joe's insane flying dropkick up on the steps) but like Angst it really just did nothing to pump up my interest in TNA. I'm not as disinterested as him but I've still been pretty cold on TNA (and wrestling) of late and was hoping that BFG would change some of that. But Daivari and Wilde are still champs even when I don't care about them, Creed and Roxxi didn't win when it seemed set up for them to, nothing happened in the RESPECT war except Nash's fairly obvious turn (and that didn't even seem to be him siding with Sting necessarily). No movement on the Guns like I was looking for, even Abyss managed to avoid using weapons in a Monster's Ball match and progressing that story. So TNA this week is the same as it was last week only with Sting as champ. So no renewed interest for me.

I'm now going to be looking to next week's live Impact to be the "turning point" for TNA and for Sting to once again drop his title super early, or something. But maaaaan... If Sting loses that belt to Jarrett instead of AJ I'm going to be dangerously close to not caring.

Also, Mongo is the worst referee ever.

Alas no dog or haliburton. It was hilarious though. He had the slowest counts in wrestling history that had faces and heels cursing at him. It would usually take him about 10 seconds to just get down to his knees for a pin and the wrestlers took to drawing his attention before even making the pin. I say he was the worst ref but its kind of funny because he was SO bad that it managed to suck me in and make me believe that it was all real and Homicide really was ready to kill him for counting so damn slow. Its absurd because obviously slow or fast the count was going to be whatever the script said but I bought that the wrestlers were furious at him.

There was also a "Huh?" moment when midway through the match James Storm brought a bag of tacks into the ring to fuck with Abyss and Mongo took them away despite the match being no DQ and weapons encouraged. Then later in the match when Hernandez was struggling to open the bag Mongo finally stepped in and opened the bag for him and spread the tacks out (in fairness, it was seriously taking Hernandez forever to open it so Mongo did a good job but it was funny after the earlier moment when he took the bag away for no reason).

He also had a really stupid comedy spot during the match when Storm donned a helmet and produced a mini football challenging Mongo to a game which ended in Roode getting sacked.

The match was crazy really. But nothing tops Abyss literally being on fire even after the extinguishers were opened up on him. And Bubba watching it in pure horror and shock.
