Fortune & Glory

Some of the world's best archaeologists, treasure hunters, and adventurers have decided to pool their considerable talents to rid the world of evil archaeologists, evil treasure hunters, and evil zombies. Also Nazis. They hate those guys.

Indiana Jones - The de facto leader because he's Indiana fucking Jones.


Lara Croft - Brings the sexy, brings the guns.


Nathan Drake - A firearms expert, smartass, and ladies man.


Rick O'Connell - Handy with guns and knives, an expert in mummy-fighting (like it's not going to come up).


Benjamin Franklin Gates - An expert historian and puzzle solver.


Dirk Pitt - Underwater specialist. Great to have around in a fistfight.

Led by the man who has changed from sidekick to brainwashed villain to symbol of courage and bravery...Captain America. He's decided to put together a team that can do the necessary jobs and stay under the radar. First he finds someone with a similar past in Jason Bourne. A brilliant fighter and typically a loner, Bourne will fight for what's right and he respects the symbol Capt. America and will follow his lead as long as he feels it's the right path.

Next he found Sydney Bristow, similar in that she thought she was working for good but later found out she wasn't. She can infiltrate any group and use her strengths as a spy to open areas for the rest of the team to enter.

Psylocke came on board next because every team needs a ninja that also has the powers of telepathy and telekinesis. She brings the team together mentally to keep them working in unison and her skills as a fighter come in handy as well.

Cameron is a cyborg and basic ass-kicker. Works as the weapons expert and can blend in with the rest of the world as an unassuming young woman. Uses her cybernetic skills to hack as well.

Bigby Wolf is another expert on infilitration, but don't piss him off because if you do, you might just get the Big Bad Wolf.


Or something like that. At least it isn't 6 archaeologists.

OK here we.

Covert Ops is a very nicely built team. Personally, I prefer Steve Rogers as Cap, but Bucky does a good job too. Jason Bourne is just the Man and the rest of the team makes sense as they complete each other. Only thing is, we have seen this type of team many times before. This one might be one of the best we have seen, but it still hold a little déjà vu.

Fortune and Glory is not a repeat of the same character. I also see them as adventure/treasure hunters. I can see Jones and BFG analyzing maps and clues together, Lara funding the whole thing and using her connection in the high calls world to get the jobs (some rich dudes wants them to find the lost treasure of the Sierra Madre or whatever, but will only pay on reception of the goods so Croft fronts the money for the operation) but she is also useful in the field. The 3 other guys, are the grunts of the team. Sure they can pitch in with the thinking of the plan and all, but they are mostly the ones that execute the plan. But when things don't go according to plan, they improvise and that's when they are at their best and where they play of each others strengths and weaknesses.

Also its a fresh idea with only new faces that we haven't seen in a hero draft before.

My vote goes to Fortune and Glory. Good job Fishy on what I think is a fun team.

But Dev, your team is also very solid, but like I said, lacks a little bit of the "never seen that before" that I was expecting in this draft with the new rules. (Jason Bourne could be Hawkeye of some sort and Sidney could be Black Widow)

First of all, happy birthday Hodgey. Hope you're having a fun one. Now, as for the voting, these are two great teams, but I can't vote against the Bourne/Bristow/Cameron combination...Covert Ops in a close one

Thanks. I love these drafts because I love putting things together that haven't actually been done before. Or finding unique ways to add characters to already established partnerships. I was actually worried about this team early because of some changes I made right at the end in order to balance my four teams better.

Originally I had Daredevil here instead of Bigby Wolf but I tried to limit the number of comic characters on each team. I also considered Elektra here a few times but I thought putting both Elektra and Sydney on the same team was too much Jennifer Garner and then I thought Pyslocke was a pretty good replacement for Elektra. I do wish I could have done better with the 5th and 6th spots, but knowing I wanted a Summer Glau character there wasn't much I could do once River Tam got taken. I think she would have been ideal on this team. Sleeper agent and all. Probably should have considered a hacker and/or weapons expert as well but I would have wanted a bigger team to truly get all the roles filled; hacker, weapons, oversight, etc.
