- SCUM expands adding Rhett Titus (not bad) Jimmy Rave (not bad) Cliff Compton (I don't know anything about him) and Matt Hardy (ok, Hardy is not what he once was, but I give him credit, what he has done so far in ROH has been pretty damn good). I hope this goes more along the lines of early nWo and not the more recent Aces & Eights
- ROH opens with a long winded promo from Nigel, talking about keeping honor in the company, etc. Lethal faces Elgin for another title shot, should be a good match, Whitmer gets a title shot, meh. Mark Briscoe gets a title shot (in Asheville!) should be a good match, and then Jay gets a shot a week later at the PPV, which should also be very good
- One point that confused me, Nigel was going on about how the Briscoes brought honor to ROH, and how they had been there just about from the start, when I started watching about 2 years or so ago, they were pretty hated heels, were they always heels? Seems like a team that was that hated wouldn't be the ones carrying the banner of honor
- American Wolves vs. ACH/Tadarius Thomas - the end was never in question since the Wolves don't lose to teams not really established, but this was a really good match. ACH and Thomas could be the next C&C type team where the whole is better than the sum of the parts. Fun match.
- BJ Whitmer beat QTMarshall - Never any doubt here either. It was nice to see RD Evans back though, supposedly with a girlfriend now, wonder if it will be the lady he has for a manager on the indies? Could be interesting
- ROH highlights, Red Dragons (Fish & O'Reiley) beat the Briscoes for the tag titles, which I approve of very much. Though, if they were going to take the titles off of the Briscoes this fast, why have them beat SCUM? Just put Red Dragon in the match. I hope they keep the belts for awhile and don't just drop them to the Wolves right away, that could be a really good feud.
- Matt Taven upsets Adam Cole (who was also promised a title shot by Nigel) to win the TV title, which leads to......
- The Hoopla Show. I am going to say it now, Truth Martini is awesome. I wasn't sold on Matt Taven (he looked like a Pauley Shore ripoff) but he is growing on me. He fits the cocky pretty boy LA heel type very well. And "let me whip this out" and pulling the tv title out of his pants? I approve of that. I wonder how far they can push this?
- Charlie Haas is clearly channeling Steve Austin, but I am ok with it so far, let's see how far he goes with it
- Lethal vs. Strong - Jay wins in a surprising squash. I never cared for Strong, but he is growing on me. He doesn't have a personality at all, but he is really good in the ring and any match with him in it is usually fun to watch. I was really shocked that Lethal won so easily, not sure why they felt the need to do that. I also kind of hate the Lethal Injection move. He should go back to using that package DDT move as a finisher.
