I always liked him best as Matt Hardy's lacky during the Matt Hardy Version 1.0 days. He just had a great "go-fer" vibe about him. And he was the #1 MF'er after all.

He was also great in 3-Count.

I welcome anyone to TNA. Though not at the expense of Jay Lethal and Curry Man. But, it's refreshing to see a character free of the McMahon grip.

I forgot to mention how hard I laughed at the 'steel' ECW belt reference this week. Didn't expect it, and it cracked me up.

Okay, recap finally done...

It was probably a good idea to put Bourne and Ortiz together. Bourne is exciting enough that he can do the quick high spot work rate stuff. While Ortiz can do the basic slow, early-in-the-match grunt work while he’s still trying to find his muse, or whatever it is wrestlers do. I’d comment on Braden Walker, but apparently WWE agreed with me that he moved like he was in jello and he has been wished well in his future endeavors. And he appears to have taken James Curtis with him, which might be too bad, as Curtis looked like he could actually move a bit with the right partner. The Dirt Sheet was amusing, but I’m still not a fan of main events that don’t involve, you know, actual matches.

Ummm... They're not insane. Its almost certainly sugar glass, a sugar water substitute used as a special effects prop. And with Christian the blood was CLEARLY on the towel prior to the trainer getting in the ring and applying it to his back. Notice no scars on his back? Cide looked like he had some cuts, but nothing real glass would do and the eye thing seemed 100% story.

I suppose I could be wrong. Some of these wrestling guys are insane and there are things done routinely with fluorescent light bulbs and weed whackers I'd never do. But considering Spike's limitations and TNA's general lack of CZW insanity I'm gonna bet on you be sucked into the story with some common props.

Their booking of Burchill has always been insane. He and Regal? Gold. But making him a pirate? Stupid. But he owned that gimmick, and made the most with it. Gave him a hot valet? Awesome. Job him ou tlike a little punk? Dumb.

I'd rather he be over on Smackdown where he would have a chance.

I think it's a case of anything Robert Roode being near reeking of shite. He exists in a different time-space where everything sucks.

And on Taylor, she's great in the ring. I just wished she would have been allowed to be pulverized a few times by Kong while she learned her style and then, once she determined what the weakness of (in Kong's case, roll-ups) then made a surprising pin.

Or I guess I was waiting for Kong to drop the title to a more established woman's wrestler like maybe a face turn and a drop to Angelina (who admittedly was already squashed by her pre Beautiful People).

Whomever draws those faces on the overs of the brown bags has some skills!

I'm with yall on the Gayle - Angeline feud. It started way back in those vignettes where she said they were in another Fed together and Gayle was rubbing her the wrong way. That is very legitimately something a woman would do. They hate each other for years and years over the tiniest of things. And they can both wrestle.

But you know who needs some work? Roxxi. I love the cut but she seems a little late and sloppy with her executions.

That doesn't help, Chuckles.

So Chavo went from World Champion to enhancement talent in a span of 4 months. Nice job, Chavo!

I would so watch that on an early Saturday morning. I can just imagine sexy bi-curious girls deciding to take a shower together then all of a sudden Kane goozles them and chokeslams them repeatedly. That's worth at least a Gold Globe nod in my opinion.



That sort of sentiment brings a tear to the corner of my eye.


If Freddie can make a go at it and have fun, I'm all for it.

This and the Adamle thing seem like weird things for fans to get upset about. Not saying anyone here has been over the top with their hate, but I've heard some downright goofy sounding hate.

Unless they plan on devoting twenty-minutes of t.v. time a week to whacky Adamle, I don't see how his being GM is worse than his full forty minutes as a commentator. If anything you here from his less in his current role.

As far as Freddie, it's not like he's going to fuck anything up. At worst, he makes an insane suggestion that Vince likes and Vince is the one to blame if it shows up on TV.

I still remember the story about the writer that tried to storyboard things to make sure thing had a sense of continuity and they fired him for finding too many flaws and logic holes and having the unmitigated gaul to try to lessen those occurances.

Finally watched that World X-Cup elimination match from TNA Victory Road. That was pretty fucking awesome. Masato Yoshino is the man.

That is all. I just happened to notice that no one talked about Victory Road over here or OOver there.

I do like Richards a bunch and the NRC breakup is something I'm kinda interested in. Except that the VideoWire I watched where Richards turned on Strong Sweeney then announced he was going on a long tour of Japan and when he came back THEN he'd kick Strong's ass.

Uh... ok. That's... interesting booking. Why don't you tell me when you're actually going to do the feud and hope that all my interest hasn't died since the momentum of the Richards turn clearly will have? Its like trying to recreate the Aries/TNA/Gen Next mess for some reason.

And yeah, I love Lacey so I'm KIND of interested... but she's been gone. So... uh... ok? I get that they're selling Jacobs' mysterious attack but its like Gabe's lost all sense of timing and how not to drag out stories past where most people care. But its ROH so with that insulated and dedicated fanbase it probably doesn't matter because they'll just keep buying. And much of the boards thing Detroit was an "amazing show", so who cares?

ROH's business model isn't one that longs for new fans like Cory or casuals like me to care more... and ROH fans seem outright hostile towards us and would prefer to keep having no problem grabbing front row seats to any show they can drive to.

EDIT: Let me amend that. Fans of ALL companies seem to be strangely territorial and hostile. I mentioned that in the 12-Pack to the weird TNA vs WWE thing that exists. People who are genuine fans of multiple companies exist plenty and they're largely the guys who meet on boards like this. But ROH Boards, WWE Boards, and TNA Boards are largely occupied by people who think their product is awesome and everyone else's is crap. And a fan of another product looking to yours and offering opinions is met with extreme hostility because you're an outsider (or worse, a heathen who enjoys THAT company).

And that though process really stands out in a small, rabid, and insulated fanbase like ROH's or like ECW had.

I love this new "mature" Jericho is makes so much sense in context of the storyline and feels natural and organic, which is a feeling that lacks in most of the forced, artificial WWE storylines. The best part came in the form of Cade thanking him for saving him because it opens up so many storylines down the road. It just ties up everything from Jericho's return and works in all the little details. I was afraid that storyline was going to get stale or they were going to run out of ideas (see Angle/AJ, which was wicked hot and has seemed to cool recently). I have been very impressed with this depth of the storyline and Jericho's new direction as a cult leader and savior for dead-end wrestlers could keep this storyline going well into the future. In my mind, I love him to pick up another wrestler while somebody like London stands up to him and resents the idea of being under Jericho's new vision for pro wrestling. The best way to promote his new vision is to chase the title and eventually capture it. I am keeping my fingers crossed for Punk/Jericho at Summerslam. Jericho tries to recruit Punk because Punk like Jericho is a paragon of virtue through his straight edge personality. While Punk points out that Jericho had gone over-board and that his means to an end are wrong and violate actually what he preaches. I could dig that program. Though Punk needs a storyline quickly as possible as he was thoroughly overshadowed last night.

The World Champion was a complete afterthought even though he did have a rocking match with William Regal (glad to see you again). I hated the finish out of nowhere, which always bothers me. However Punk did look strong as he took quite a beating and still won the match. Still Batista/Cena/Jericho dominated the show while Punk looked more like an I-C champion than their peer or better. Lastly, given that JBL was protected last night it looks more and more likely that we are on a collision course with Punk/JBL. JBL and The Great Khali could be the two world champions ewwy. That’s as bad as the Orton/Khali pair from last year and the Orton/JBL pair from 2005.

Santino/Beth are a lot of fun. Mickie was showcased, but sadly she continues her feud with that god-awful Burchill chick.

The rest of the show was forgettable. What the hell was that main event, a freaking cure for insomnia. Batista/Cena well I thought they would wait until Wrestlemania. But if they want to get it out of their system now well I am not going to complain.

Admale who the fuck cares. The guy is completely incompetent and if they can even squeeze a little goodness might as well try. Lord knows it took over a decade for Mark Henry to figure how to work.

I have given up on Smackdown after the Khali debacle, but Santino, Regal, Mickie, and Jericho are keeping Raw on my TV schedule. I think Raw has been missed opportunity after missed opportunity since the draft. I don’t feel as energized as I was after the draft.

It is all well and good for me to want to go but I've proven to be lazy with this sort of thing. I live 20 minutes from Universal and have only gone to see TNA twice. I'm such a bum. If I ever do decide to go I will let you know.
