I don't think they even rewrote history in anyway. Or delayed her death. As best as I understand it in the original books she DID disappear and go to Europe for awhile. And the kids story just said that the real reason for her going was to hide a pregnancy from Petey. The affair with Norman doesn't have to be rewritten. It could have happened any time between the pages. It may not fit with the character and it obviouslly wasn't intended at the time but it can still exist there. As best as I can tell the only real continuity problem is that Gwen didn't spend enough time away the first time to spit out some kids. But since time is a pretty relative thing in comics that strikes me as a minor rewrite.

If DC decides today they want to write in an affair that Bruce Wayne had with Lois Lane years before she married Clark Kent they can. There's nothing stopping them (except maybe good sense). They can write it between stories and it never revealing itself doesn't matter. Now if they decided to take some random vacation Lois took in the comics in 1977 and decide it was 3 months traveling the world with Batman then we get into questionable territory. But I don't really consider it a rewrite. Rewrite is "WonderWoman, Superman, and Batman helped found the Justice League... no, WW is out and Black Canary is in... no, Supes and Bats are out now too... no, they're back but now some made up guy named Triumph is in... ok, WW is back in and no idea about Canary or Triumph."

Still, as someone who's not really a Spidey fan at all I read that story and was struck by how lame it was.

And to Loki for getting so drunk in his perceived power (he thought he was the only person yet who hadn't voted and that his vote was going to make the difference) that he waited until the last minute to attempt to cast his vote......but missed the deadline and didn't get to vote at all. Not that it would have mattered anyway.
