I’m a simple guy. “Boobies” will suffice. Those I usually use the singular term “rack” for the both of them.

Not only do I remember test patterns, but I also remember the National Anthem played before the test patterns. I also remember being my Dad’s remote control. “Hey, kid, turn the TV to Channel 26. Wrestling’s on!” (And that would UHF channel 26, not cable channel 26.)

135. What is your favorite?
The old ones for the camp factor. I especially like Match Game now that I get all the veiled references and know that the entire cast and host drank between shows so by the Friday show they were all smashed. For pure humor, I loved the one that was on MTV in the 80s with Colin Quinn and some other people I can’t remember (including a really hot chick). (I had to Google the details. The show was “Remote Control.” The host was Ken Ober and the hot chick was Kari Wuhrer. Man, she was hot.)

12.5. What 1 PH'er could/should be a game show host? What game?
Blown Spot would be great as Wheel of Furtune’s Pat Sajak. At least until he flew off in a rage and killed someone.

Good question. I’d go with being Gene Rayburn on Match Game just for the backstage drinking and carousing. I’m thinking Brett Somers had her legs behind her head at least once a week between tapings.

4. What other sports do you like?
I gather you know I do triathlons and road racing, so there’s that. I use to play a lot of basketball until I graduated from college, and then the pickup games seemed harder to find. To watch, I’m a college basketball and football fan, and this year I got into soccer. And I’m a NASCAR fan. My brother-in-law races street stock at local tracks, so Kristine and I will go watch him a couple times a year. I also enjoy going out to see the Sacramento Rivercats (Oakland A’s AAA-affiliate), but it’s more for the weather and crowd than the game.

5. Do you participate in any sports?
Can you tell I’m answering these in order without reading them beforehand? I was a swimmer through junior college, then started running to keep the weight off. I came a pretty competitive age-group road racer, but injuries started to slow me in my 30s. I got into triathlons in 2000 when I moved to Sacramento. I’ve finished six marathons (fastest 3 hours, 26 minutes) and two half-Ironmans. I’m proud to say I’ve never not finished a race I’ve started. There were a few I paid for but didn’t start because of injuries., but once I’ve started I’ve always crossed the finish line.

6. What is your stance / feeling on tattoos and piercings?
I use to think they were ugly, especially on women. I swore I’d never date a girl with a tattoo. Instead I married one. Kristine had a small heart and cross on her ankle that she got as a teenager, and has since had it covered with dog paw prints that go around her ankle. Now, I’ve found that some women look really good wwith tattoos. But I think they have to have a fit body to start with. A woman I cycle with has three or four on her, including one on her shin/calf that you can see when you’re riding with her. She’s 50-something, very fit, and the tats look nice. Piercings, in the right places and on the right body, are a turn on.

Sorry, I am tat and piercing free. When guys having pierces ears was just beginning to become hip, my grandfather swore he’d disown me if I ever pierced my ears. That, and the fact I am scared to death of needles, keeps both of those away from my body.

I’d have to say the Figure 4 because of Ric Flair, but I also dug the first time I saw Dick Murdoch use the Brainbuster Suplex because it looked like it really hurt. And Tully Blanchard’s Slingshot Suplex was so unique at the time as well. Finally, the classic Foreign Object to the Side of the Head is always a good one.

9. Do you have any siblings?
I have one younger brother. He lives in Redding, has his own trucking business. He’s a redneck. We see each other at the holidays and it’s best left that way.

Oh yeah. As kids my brother and I fought all the time. Note, he’s the younger brother. I took advantage of that. Yeah, I was probably a dick to him at times and I know he had a tough time growing up in my shadow.

Surprisingly, I’ve never been arrested. So the worst I can think of is probably driving drunk. Very, very drunk. The kind of “Wow, I don’t remember driving home” drunk. And don’t ask for specifics because it happened enough times that I couldn’t tell you how many times. To guess, I’d say at least half a dozen. But none in at least the last 10 years. I’ve learned.

12. Favorite video game.
I played Miss Pacman at a pizza parlor at lunch nearly every day one year in high school. That was the routine for a friend and I. We’d eat lunch while walking to the pizza place, drop about a buck each on the game, then walk back to school. It must have been pre-driver’s license for both of us, so I’d say freshman or sophomore year of high school.

Probably, because The Simpsons were a college cult hit when I was in college. But I don’t remember any now. Though things like “D’oh” and “Ha Ha!” are just part of my vocabulary now. Wait, I just remembered: (Indian voice) “I am well aware of the robbery procedures, sir.”

15. Do you watch cartoons?
Nah. Pretty much stopped watching them by the time puberty hit.

Probably Bugs Bunny. It’s a classic. Road Runner was always good, too. Acme Company did a lot of good business with Wile E. Coyote. You ever wonder how he got all that stuff prior to Fed Ex?

Serious? Damn, what kind of freak mind do you have? I’m thinking a human would be more like a cow than a chicken, so you’re talking red meat. Breasts and thighs would have the most meat, and would make some good steaks. So flavor with some kind of dark marinate and Cabernet and slow roast over a hot fire for a couple hours.

Do fish count? That’s about it. I ran over a squirrel in my car once. Does that count?

I’m against it, but I’ve always said it might change. As a sports reporter I covered a high school basketball team that won a state title. One of the kids on the team was a punk, always in trouble, petty stuff like breaking into lockers. A few years after, he went to Chico State, where he was found guilty of killing a respected doctor and his wife for drug money. He apparently tied up the wife, killed the doctor in front of her, then killed her too. He’s been on Death Row for nearly 20 years now. When it becomes his turn, ask me how I feel. At the very least I’ll have some different thoughts on the issue.

Not that I can recall. I’m mean, I’m sure I wanted to beat the hell out of the guy who broke into our house a few years back and stole a bunch of stuff (most disheartingly to me, my race bike), but that was just raw emotion. I don’t believe I’ve ever been to a point of meditating seriously injuring someone.

Say AA, do you have any funny stories about Dave Kingman and rodents?
The Dave Kingman story. Solly and I were PMing on Facebook one day and this came up. I had to look up the details to remember the exact when and who, but I was in the press box the day Dave Kingman sent a dead rat in a box to Sacramento Bee sportswriter Sue Fornoff.

It was 1986, and I was working for the Vacaville Reporter as a sports writer. It’s a local daily paper about an hour from the Bay Area. In the summer when local sports were slow, we took turns going to the A’s and Giants games. It gave young writers a chance to feel like they were big time and get some good contacts. That’s how I met a lot of cool dudes from the San Francisco Chronicle and Examiner, and how I was fortunate enough to meet Bill King, the Hall of Fame announcer for the A’s, Raiders and Warriors.

Anyway, I’m up in the press box about four of five seats down from Fornoff. The day before she’d written a column that wasn’t very complimentary of the A’s, and Kingman in particular. (Probably because he was hitting .210, with eight solo home runs among his 12 hits. You get the drift.) This being 1986, female sports writers were rare, and Kingman was a extreme male chauvinist. So he hated her just for being around, and apparently really wasn’t pleased with the article. So about the third or fourth inning (early in the game), an attendant came up to the press box, handed Fornoff a gift-wrapped box and left. Fornoff probably knew right away it was something of Kingman’s doing. So she opens the box, sees this dead rat, and just nonchalantly tosses it on the table in front of her and doesn’t say a word. The guys around her made more of a deal about it that she did, and eventually the rat-in-a-box got passed around the press box.

After the game, Fornoff was down in the lockerroom with the rest of us, and I remember her just starring daggers at Kingman. But neither one of them said a word to each other, which is easy to do since Kingman didn’t talk to the press as a whole. The next day Kingman was fined, forced to issue an apology, and Fornoff never mentioned it in any of her articles.

What is your favorite Chickenshit Heels promo ever? You can only pick one.

Only one? With no caveats or Honorable Mentions? It would have to be “The Chickenshit Heels Tryout Tape” The work you put into that was Hall of Fame worthy. To this day, I can read that and keep chuckling to myself, and then burst out laughing with the “Johnny Adrenaline failed drug test” photo with Chris Benoit in the background.

Now if I can get Honorable Mentions, I’d go with the promo that started the “Airplane Trip to Hawaii” series, and “15 Minutes of Fame” and “Loser Leaves Town Contract Signing” duo we did before the LLT match at the beginning of this year. And though not really a Chickenshit Heel promo, I always thought my best series of promos was “AA and the Championship Committee.” I also have to say that there were so many that you, me, Spot and Capslock did during all the D&D/TCH feuds that I can’t even begin to single them out. All four of us ripped off some good ones, and in choosing a few I’d probably end up crediting the wrong author.
