I know I was the only one to nominate Hong Kong Phooey, and it draws a tough first round matchup against Justice League, especially with all the comic fans around here.

But dammit - Hong Kong Phooey was a great show. It ran from 1974-1976 which means many of the younger crowd (translation: almost everybody here) may not be familiar with it unless you picked it up on Boomerang or one of those type channels.

And Scatman Crothers did the voice (ok, another reference the old farts get....).

I would normally vote for HKP but it ain't happening against Justice League. I love Scatman - he rocked in Cuckoo's Nest & The Shining.

Yeah, I'm a big Hong Kong Phoey fan. I'm a bigger JL fan. Its a shame considering there's maybe 2 other shows in this set that give a damn about. Neither live action does anything for me, GoBots/Mr T is a choice of the least stupid for me, Samurai Jack gets no consideration from me, and Inspector Gadget is fine and all but has little chance vs Fraggle Rock.

Speaking of which, why in the world is Fraggle Rock not in the Live Action category? Did I miss something? It was live people (or person) and muppets. Is this just a mistake or was there some vote had for some reason that I missed and failed to interject the basic logic of Fraggle Rock clearly not being a cartoon?

I mean, maybe its just me but FR could be running away with the Live showdown. I'm gonna go find some torrents of the show. Or I think my sister might have the DVD. Hmm...

EDIT: Or is that specifically the FR cartoon? Is there an entry in both categories? Just curious.

Okay, the Cartoon one was easily rectified. I replaced Fraggle Rock with the Wuzzles so that this round features Inspector Gadget vs. The Wuzzles. I gave Transformers (the 4 seed) a bye. To anyone who feels like complaining about two low seeds facing each other: If you want to recalculate all the remaining seeds so that everything evens out in the cartoon showdown, be my guest. Let me know what is supposed to go where. Otherwise, we'll keep it as is.

I've re-seeded the Live Action Showdown. The only noticeable difference is that Spectreman will get his ass handed to him by Melissa Joan Hart instead of the losers from Double Dare.

As far as any other possible mistakes, I don't see any. I have no idea what Tarzan/Zorro, the Mighty Orbots, Battle of the Planets, Today's Special, "House Frightenstein", 3-2-1 Contact, Wild and Crazy Kids, and G.U.T.S. are. But everything else seems to check out fine.

I looked it over as well and as far as I can tell, it's good (there's a bunch I still don't know). At the very least the ones I submitted are classified right.

I don't think you should have to do any more rework, so this should probably be a "speak now or forever hold your peace" kind of thing where if a misclassifiation comes up later...it sticks....oh well.

Damn, I would have sworn that was Jerry Reed. Those guys have really similar voices.

Sorry, though, Justice League all the way. Batman and Animaniacs are the only cartoons I'd vote for over JL.

That was Zan and Jayda, aka the Wonder Twins. They also had a monkey, which somehow failed to raise their coolness level at all. They weren't in this particular iteration of the JL. They were part of the Super Friends. A horrible show best forgotten by humanity.
