Taking a baseball bat to Kevin Garnett & Paul Pierces knees? Then running Dwight Howard over with a car followed up with kidnapping LeBron James and holding him hostage until 2010 and forcing him to sign with the Sixers?

well we will just get a new plan then
The Phillies are everything I hoped the Mets would be - a team that plays their fucking asses off for all 27 outs. They're never out of a game. Solly 10/20/09

Pierce will fall down and pretend like they already got him and be stretchered off... only to come back on the court 5 minutes later as if he returned from the dead.
And I like Kid's idea of claiming no allegiance and simply following former Heels. That way you have no real vested interest in a team and you can freely bandwagon with little ramipercussions come playoff time.

I assume Eric wants a team he can be loyal to or else I'd also back the freelancing. Freelancing is good for when your team is mired in a pit. Like Kid, as a Knick fan I tend to take to other teams and players so I have a worthwhile rooting interest. As long as you're upfront about it and don't get too bad with it (trash talking for example) its fine.
But I assume Eric wants a team he can jump fullscale into and do everything a fan does. The UNC thing is an interesting option I don't have.
Or don't do either. If you can't find an image you like at either than don't force it. Just give me something you like and which will look good on the board.

I've backed the Spurs other then the title they won against the Knicks. But I'll never buy a Spurs Championship TV Shirt or claim them as my favorite team.
College rooting is interesting. I have a friend that is a diehard Georgia Bulldog fan (I know why are we even friends?). He sort of likes the Falcons but mostly just roots for teams with a lot of Bulldogs on it. I'm sure whatever team lands Percy or Tebow that I'll instantly like them more. Hopefully it is not an NFC East Team. It was terrible when at the same time Bill Parcells coached the Cowboys and Steve Spurrier coached the Redskins. I hate the Cowboys and Redskins so much but really liked both of those guys.
Is it truly a rivalry if Georgia never beats Florida in anything?
I can't really add any advise on who to support. I'm a Pacers fan, but I wouldn't recommend them right now, although I have faith they'll turn things around eventually.
I live in the Wizards' market and trust me, you want no part of this team. Gilbert Arenas is a fun guy but he may be developing into a TO. And at least TO plays.

Except % of Graduates.
I'd have to look it up to confirm but I'm pretty sure Florida beats Georgia is most academic categories as well.
And it is still a rivalry because if you use total history head to head Georgia still hold the lead in the series. It is only since Spurrier arrived at Florida that Georgia has become our bitch.
Edit: Looked it up. Florida is 25th in the Nation and Georgia is 63rd in the nation.

Tommy, The Celtics have a history of this kind of shit....I remember hearing Nelson why?, DJ why? Walton why? to name a few...it's all about the ring!
DJ and Walton scored more than 0 points in their first 2 games. The only guy who was close to being a malcontent like Starbury was DJ, but DJ never decided not to play for an entire season.

They did have Maravich in his last season and (I think) Bird's first, but by then Pistol was happy to be a role player, and his ability to come in cold and knock down shots was scary. I'm not happy either, but with Tony Allen going down Marbury could help the bench, and it's the opposite of Manny. He's got to behave for a stretch run to get a contract ( I hope elsewhere).
Yeah, I know this place pretty good. I went to law school here.[My5:]
WALTHAM, Mass. -- Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers says there is a strong possibility that Kevin Garnett will miss the whole postseason.
The All-Star forward has missed most of the last two months with a strained right knee. He had been recovering with an eye towards the playoffs, but Rivers said he had to shut Garnett down at practice Thursday morning and "there's no way" he could play right now.
Rivers said on a radio show that Garnett was frustrated but understood that it was the right thing to do.
The defending NBA champions begin the best-of-seven first round series against the Chicago Bulls on Saturday.
